Academy update | September 2015
Firstly welcome to all our new students and parents. What a great start to the year we've had already. I am pleased to report that our Year 7's have settled in well and that the general atmosphere of the academy is as usual fantastically busy and a hive of activity. I am proud to report that examination results this year were stunning and I believe down to the sheer hard work of both students and staff throughout the school - well done to all involved. I look forward to another successful year at Tuxford Academy.

Stunning GCSE results
Students have yet again performed to an exceptionally high level in their GCSE examinations. I am extremely proud of all students and congratulate them on their outstanding results. These results will now provide many wider opportunities for them to move onto their next level of education.

I am exceptionally pleased to say that this year's A Level results were outstanding. Nearly all our students were accepted for their first choice university place and 43 (the highest number of students ever) got in to top Russell Group universities.

Introducing our new Clumber Café

Our new Clumber Café is now open at lunchtime for both hot and cold meals and snacks in addition to the academy's canteen. This will reduce waiting times for students and provide an increasingly more pleasant dining experience for our students. The café will also be used as a revision area/café serving hot drinks and snacks for Year 11's in the run up to exams. This was trialled last summer and certainly had a positive effect! The menu sounds extremely tempting - I may have to sample it myself!

Warm welcome to new
DALP Deputy Chief Executive

Debbie Clinton It's my pleasure to introduce Debbie Clinton in her new role as Deputy Chief Executive Officer for the Diverse Academies Learning Partnership (DALP). Mrs Clinton will have the lead role in the leadership, management and development of all six of the DALP academies, which includes Tuxford Academy. Prior to joining DALP, Mrs Clinton has worked for Ofsted as one of Her Majesty's Inspectors and also as Principal of a large outstanding academy and trust in the North East of England. She is also a head teacher representative for the Freedom and Autonomy for Schools National Association (FASNA) and, occasionally, for the Department for Education. Debbie is looking forward to meeting parents during her visits to our academy and supporting Tuxford on its continuous road to success.
